Part of it has to do with him being Asian but it’s the simple fact that Asian athletes aren’t expected to do well. Yao Ming was a freak. Mayweather said, “Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.” That’s because they’re expected to. Asians are expected to be good at math and the fucking violin. But Mayweather is right about Lin being a good player. Him being Asian is a product of the white mainstream media making it a big deal bc he’s yellow. Fuck off. He’s good. Leave it at that. Race doesn’t have anything to do with it.

UPDATE: Proof Lin has always been legit. Everyone just ignored him because he was Asian.

How I Really Wanted To Start My iPhone 4 Review

“Is that what I think it is? Can I touch it?”

It’s a Wednesday night, I’m tired and I really just want to be left alone to have a drink or two with my friends who are visiting from out of town. I don’t feel like sharing my new toy with anyone, but I reluctantly hand it over to two pubescent girls that have run over from the other side of the bar to verify what they think I have. I’m not even sure these girls should be in a bar or maybe I’m just getting old and can’t tell how old anyone is anymore. They thank me, move on and probably Twitter about it. Others stop by and take a gander as word spreads that I’ve got an iPhone 4. I don’t feel like sharing anymore that night. I slip it back into my pocket for the rest of the night and have a few more drinks with my friends. “No one will care tomorrow,” I utter under my breath.

And then it devolved to this. http://techland.com/2010/06/28/apple-iphone-4-review-no-you-cant-touch-it/

I Have No Words

For whatever reason I wrote the following while trying to write a review. Of a phone. It had nothing to do with said phone. Strange.

Every morning I wake up and reach for my phone(s). Doesn’t matter where I am, who I’m with or what time of day it is. I check work e-mail and Twitter on my iPhone and then my BlackBerry for personal e-mail, text messages, and BBMs. (Shouldn’t it be the other way?)You might say I’m addicted. I am addicted. I live in a world where I spend 90% of my waking hours looking at a screen. Any screen. I communicate via these screens to the outside world and sometimes the world that’s a mere two feet away. You’ll hear more clicks and taps than you will vowels and consonants being spliced together. I rarely speak.

Comments

I’ve added comments thanks to disqus. Basically, you’ll never know what it means or what it feels like to have a tattoo until you have one. So if you don’t have a tattoo then keep your opinion to yourself. Nobody cares about your ‘holier than thou’ mentality or aimlessly prepared diatribe. I don’t deride you for not having any.

What's in a name

When I started this tumblr page in 2008 (or was it 2007?) I had wild aspirations about the content that would live on it. A daily photo blog seemed like a fun idea, but I haven’t taken a photo that wasn’t for work since. Sad, really. It’s still unclear what I plan to do with this but I’m sitting on the couch watching a baseball game and avoiding cleaning my apartment. This seemed like a good time to get started.

What’s with the name?

The domain name was an accident. I actually thought I was buying aworkingprogress, but I missed the last ‘s’ while checking out. It’s fitting now that I think about it. I’ve never known what I wanted to do with this tumblr, so it really is a work in progres.
